Woman, Independent Parent, Artist, Advocate, Artifical Pancreas.... and EVERYTHING in between.

I am blessed to be parenting two beautiful girls, ages eight and eleven. My youngest nearly lost her life at age six (August 2010) to diabetic ketoacidosis: an often fatal consequences of undiagnosed type 1 diabetes. This is OUR journey: raw and sometimes, uncensored.

Thank you for visiting wishing good health and a cooperative pancreas to you and yours.

Visual Art Journalling: Page 9

This page's border reads:

"Having to silently, supportively witness this did not just break my heart. It shattered me like a hollow glass token under the angry swing of a sledge hammer. Fragments, shards, and splinters scattered and strewn everywhere. Slicing my bare feet to the bone as I walk across this wreckage. Desperately wanting to sacrifice and break my own body, to receive your treatments for life, if you could somehow return whole and healthy. Simply to spare you of this new existence."
