Woman, Independent Parent, Artist, Advocate, Artifical Pancreas.... and EVERYTHING in between.

I am blessed to be parenting two beautiful girls, ages eight and eleven. My youngest nearly lost her life at age six (August 2010) to diabetic ketoacidosis: an often fatal consequences of undiagnosed type 1 diabetes. This is OUR journey: raw and sometimes, uncensored.

Thank you for visiting wishing good health and a cooperative pancreas to you and yours.

  1. You did a wonderful job on her video. What beautiful young girls you have. We are 6 years into the diagnosis now. Melissa is 16 and an amazing athlete and does most of her diabetes care on her own......it will come! Stay strong. We are in the Lower Mainland also.

  2. Hello Krystin - great job on the video.... I swear I need tissue when I watch videos of kids having to go through what they have to go through. Not fair. Not fair for everyone around them. Parker was diagnosed at 2 years in Sept 09. Can't believe it's been a year and a half (almost). I am going through a separation now and terrified about when he will be with Dad - who I have to give kudos to is not so bad with D as long as I tell him what to do.... Hang in there and thanks for sharing Rowan and your family's story!
