Woman, Independent Parent, Artist, Advocate, Artifical Pancreas.... and EVERYTHING in between.

I am blessed to be parenting two beautiful girls, ages eight and eleven. My youngest nearly lost her life at age six (August 2010) to diabetic ketoacidosis: an often fatal consequences of undiagnosed type 1 diabetes. This is OUR journey: raw and sometimes, uncensored.

Bumper Sticker Boundaries

I think I would like to live the rest of my life, with a bumper sticker adhered to my forehead.

My bumper sticker would read:

"If you have a story about Type 2, or your diabetic cat, or your 3rd cousin twice removed who is ALMOST type one, but managing with meds..... save me your story. I don't want to hear it. The peanut gallery of opinions is full! Take a number, and I'll let you know if and when I ever care... but I likely won't. Ever."

And if you are a mental health professional, telling me one of these 'stories' in a professional capacity DOUBLE shame on you.
