Feedback on "My Daughter's Journey"
I received my very first piece of feedback regarding my zine "My Daughter's Journey: Reflections On The First Year Post Type One Diabetic Diagnosis"!
I was intrigued with the sight of a card envelope hiding within my stack of mail this morning. I was delighted that it was a handwritten card from a woman who purchased a copy of the zine.
Stacy writes:
"I just wanted to write a little note to say "THANK YOU" for taking the time out of your busy life to write this book. It is nice to know that I am not alone in this journey. It is amazing how much your story resembles mine in so many ways. My daughter was diagnosed in February of this year and it has been a roller coaster of emotions since then. Your story really helped. Thank you again"
Often, when you mail out a copy of a zine to a customer, you don't know how it was received. The communication is done, and you can only hope for the best. The fact that this woman took the time to mail me a thank you card not only told me that I did a decent job, but to hear that she was touched by my writings brought me a level of satisfaction I would not have achieved without her kind note.
Thank you Stacy for your feedback and kind words. May the roller coaster of emotion begin to settle for your family in due time. Best wishes!
